The goal was to find practical, good-looking solutions that fit well into their surroundings. We wanted designs that were functional, modern, and showed real respect for the environment they'd be placed in.
As our management team put it, “We care deeply about keeping public spaces pleasant and inspiring. We’re excited to support young talent who can blend fresh ideas with a genuine respect for their surroundings.”
The Challenge and Categories
The competition was open to students of design and architecture, with two main categories:
- Parcel Locker Design: This was about giving the traditional locker a makeover. Students were asked to focus on the overall look—things like the outer material, color choices, and graphics.
- Delivery Hub Design: This category was for bigger ideas. We challenged students to design a central hub that could hold lockers from different companies, with the option to add extra features like bike racks, e-bike charging stations, or storage.
A jury made up of ALFA 3's management and employees reviewed all the proposals, judging them on their originality, how realistic they were to build, and how well they would contribute to public spaces.
