ALFA 3 Returned from WMX Europe 2026

At the end of June, our colleagues Alena Castellon and Rostislav Týn attended WMX Europe 2026 in Athens. Every year, this conference brings together the key people from the European postal, parcel, and logistics industry in one place.

Two days at the Grand Hyatt Athens, alongside postal operators, logistics providers, technology companies, and manufacturers working on last-mile solutions. For ALFA 3, it was not only about showing our parcel lockers. We also wanted to listen, meet new people, and get a better sense of where the industry is today and where it is going next.

H2: Main Topics at WMX Europe 2026

The programme made one thing clear: European logistics and the postal sector are going through a real change. These were the topics that shaped most of the conversations.

H3:E-commerce and Cross-Border Logistics

A lot of discussion centred on planned changes to the rules around small shipments from non-EU countries, and what those changes mean for e-commerce and last-mile logistics. Not a theoretical debate, but a practical one that directly affects many of the people who were in the room.

H3: Growing OOH and PUDO Networks

As a parcel locker manufacturer, this topic was close to home for us. National postal operators are rebuilding their networks, parcel collection points and self-service locker stations are expanding, and the market keeps consolidating through new investments and acquisitions. This is exactly the space ALFA 3 works in every day.

H3:Automation, Robotics, and AI in Logistics

Automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence were also firmly on the agenda. These are no longer just future topics. They are practical tools that help make logistics processes faster, cheaper, and more reliable, especially where pressure on delivery speed and operating costs is greatest.

H2:Meeting the Leaders of European Logistics

Outside the formal programme, what we valued most was the chance to talk directly with people who are actively building the future of European logistics.

Some meetings had been arranged weeks in advance. Others happened naturally, over coffee or after a panel. Postal operators, parcel locker manufacturers, software providers, technology partners. A wide mix, and that is what makes a conference like this genuinely useful.

Many of those conversations opened new possibilities. And they showed us once again that meeting in person still makes a difference, no matter how good digital communication has become.

The future of last-mile logistics belongs to parcel lockers

H2:The Future of Last-Mile Logistics Belongs to Parcel Lockers

WMX Europe confirmed what we see in our work every day: parcel lockers are becoming more and more important in European logistics.

Customers want delivery that is fast, flexible, and sustainable. Operators want to lower their costs and make their processes simpler. Both are pushing demand for automation, smart infrastructure, and reliable hardware. This will only grow in the years ahead.

We are proud to be part of this and to bring ALFA 3 to the table as a Czech manufacturer with a growing presence across European markets.

Thank you to all the partners, customers, and new contacts we had the chance to meet in Athens. We look forward to picking up those conversations and working on new projects together.
